SEASIDE INN AND OCEAN HOUSE HOTEL POLICIES

Guest Policies and Procedures

CHECK-IN
Check-in is from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and check-out is no later than 10:00 AM. Please go to the Seaside Inn office to check-in; or if you are arriving after 6:00 PM, please call to arrange a late check-in utilizing our lockboxes.

Parking in the parking lot in front of the Seaside Inn during your stay is included in the room rate. Overflow parking is behind the Ocean House Hotel to the left. Ocean House guests park behind the Hotel to the left, also included in the stay.

For late check-ins: When you arrive at the Seaside Inn and Ocean House Hotel you will find a number of lockboxes beside the entry door. They are each labeled with a room name and you will be provided with a code to open the lockbox for your room. You will need to know the name of your guest room, it is in your confirmation email. To open your lock box set the dials to your code, pull down the switch and the lockbox will open. The key inside will open the front door as well as the door to your room. If you have difficulty getting into the inn please call our overnight number, 207-701-1344.

There will be no staff available to assist with luggage. Breakfast is not included in your stay. Document printing, technology trouble-shooting, use of a land line or ice will not be available. Please be aware that since the Seaside Inn was built in 1850 and Ocean House in 1820 they are grandfathered and are not ADA compliant. We do not have an elevator or air conditioning, each guest room does have a fan. In response to COVID-19 concerns our housekeeping staff is not allowed to enter your room to refresh it or for any other reason during your stay.

In case of emergency please dial 911. If you have a non-emergency issue that requires law enforcement or Seaside Inn management please see the local directory printout in your room.

Please observe and respect quiet hours at the inn from 9 PM to 9 AM.

CHECK-OUT
Before you check-out please remove the linens from the bed and place in a pile with any used towels. Remove all items from the refrigerator and freezer. Place all trash in the waste baskets, do not leave any trash around the room. We ask that you do not move any furniture in your guest room.
Please lock your guest room door and return the key to the desk attendant at the Seaside Inn office or lockbox when you check-out.

DIRECTIONS TO THE SEASIDE INN
From Rte 1 in Thomaston, take Rte 131 14.1 miles until it ends in Port Clyde. Bear to the right onto Cold Storage Road. We are across from the Port Clyde General Store, our driveway is on the right. Parking is in front of the inn, follow the stone walkway on the right to the entry door.

DIRECTIONS TO THE OCEAN HOUSE HOTEL
From Rte 1 in Thomaston, take Rte 131 14.1 miles until it ends in Port Clyde. Just before the sharp right hand turn to the Port Clyde General Store and Seaside Inn, is the Ocean House Hotel on your left at 870 Port Clyde Road. If you drive past the Village Ice Cream shop on your right, you have gone too far. Parking is behind the Hotel, to your left.

LOST/UNRETURNED KEY POLICY
Please return your room key to the lockbox for your guest room or to the front desk prior to departure. If your room key is lost, your credit card will be charged $50 to cover the cost of replacement.

ADDITIONAL CHARGES
A. There is a $25 charge for each additional person (more than 2/room) age 3 and above in a room per night. Room 9 has a full bed and 2 twin beds. Hupper Island has a queen bed and a twin bed. Brothers has 2 queen beds. Teel Island has 2 queen beds and a twin size daybed. Limited availability.
B. We are a dog-friendly hotel. Please see pet policy below.
C The property and all rooms are non-smoking. The credit card on file will be charged $200 per day if any evidence of smoking is found in the unit.
D. Guests will be responsible for damage to their room or furnishings arising out of their negligence.

ADVANCE PAYMENT
Full payment is due at the time of booking. Acceptable methods of payment are MasterCard and Visa.

Rates do not include 9% Maine Lodging Tax.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
The Seaside Inn/Ocean House Hotel have a zero tolerance cancellation policy. As a small, seasonal business cancellations affect us greatly. Should you choose to cancel your reservation you will forfeit your deposit. Bookings made during the COVID-19 pandemic are subject to the same policy. The only exception to this policy is if the State of Maine executive order changes, banning out-of-state visitors. Your reservation will be cancelled with a full refund.

Rates, policies and rooms are subject to change and vary during high impact periods and special requests.

By signing and returning the attached electronic document you are agreeing to the policies as listed before you. Guests will be required to provide a copy of their license, passport, or official state-issued ID with photograph, attached to the electronic document, a copy of which will be held on file.

DOG POLICY
The Seaside Inn and Ocean House Hotel are dog friendly properties.

We welcome service animals in all areas open to guests. A service animal, for this purpose, is a dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual or other mental disability.

A maximum of two dogs are allowed in each room. A nonrefundable charge of $35 per non-service dog will be applied to your account per night.
• All dogs left alone in a room must be secured in a kennel/crate.
• All dogs are expected to be well-behaved and under control at all times, either by means of a halter, leash, tether or containment (e.g. crate). Or if a Service dog by voice or hand commands.
• The dog must behave in a nonaggressive manner at all times.
• The dog must not be disruptive.
• You are responsible for the care and behavior of your dog.
• It is your responsibility to provide others with information regarding interactions with your animal, such as “please ask before petting or speaking to” your dog.
• You are solely responsible for your dog’s behavior towards other dogs, guests, invitees and our staff.
• We reserve the right to ask you to remove any dog from the premises if it misbehaves or is uncontrolled.
• You are responsible for cleaning up after your dog anywhere on our premises or grounds. Should there be soiling or damage to property caused by you or your dog, there will be a service charge equal to the greater of $100 or the cost to fix the damage. By bringing your dog with you, you consent to us charging any such cost to your credit card.
No pets or animals other than dogs are permitted upon the premises.

Vaccination Certification
I certify that my/our dog(s) has/have received all appropriate and current (including rabies) vaccinations.
